Reception of the Shoah and Human Rights in Germany, Poland and Israel
The purpose of the project is to learn and to share the different thoughts and emotions young people in Germany, Poland and Israel experience when they cope with the questions that arise from the joint history – preservation of memory, moral lessons we can learn from the studying of the past and the personal roll each one of us can take in these meters. We believe that the personal and direct contact allows us to really get to know the values, conscience and moral standpoint of others, especially when we are dealing with a sensitive subject as the Holocaust. 30 young students from Israel, Poland and Germany visited the three countries, hosted each other at home, learned together and talked a lot about the past, the present and the future. We had some trips together and we had a lot of fun. We came to know that we are very similar and very different, that we can talk and share our thoughts and emotions and we can see a joint future.
